The Crestuma Dam

The Crestuma Dam is located on the border of the parishes of Crestuma and Lever, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, district of Porto.

It started operating in 1985 and is fed by the watercourse of the Douro River.

In its immensity, the Douro River holds many secrets that, little by little, are no longer hidden and kept under lock and key.

The river beaches are an excellent alternative to the traditional beaches of the coast, in addition to contemplating magnificent beauty, you can practice various water sports, including padel, kayak, buoy, wakeboard and speedboat rides, thus combining rest with the fun.

Zoo Santo Ignacio

Located just 14 minutes away from our accommodation, in Vila Nova de Gaia, Zoo Santo Inácio was born from the dream of a family passionate about nature, belonging to the Aveleda group.

It opened its doors in 2000 with the aim of bringing the community closer to Nature and Wildlife, alerting to the growing importance of the Conservation of Fauna and Flora Species from around the world.

Trail of the Moinhos de Jancido

The Moinhos de Jancido Trail is considered a pedestrian trail with a small linear route of natural, rural and historical typology, with a length of 6km.

It came about from a group of friends who started cleaning and opening new paths and thus discovered the surprises of this place, camouflaged by Nature.

It is certified by the Portuguese Mountaineering Federation and registered on the web resources of hikers and other nature sport lovers.

Serra da Boneca swing and its viewpoint

Have you ever imagined flying with the Douro River at your feet?

In Serra da Boneca, 30 minutes away from our accommodation, it is possible to return to childhood and swing unhurriedly with the wonderful landscape of the Douro Valley as a backdrop.

We are talking about Baloiço da Boneca, one of the most beautiful places in the North of Portugal.

White House of Gramido and Municipal Filigree Museum of Gondomar

In the Casa Branca de Gramido, right in front of the Douro, the Municipal Museum of Filigrana de Gondomar opened, where the history of this manual art that is still very much alive in the municipality is made known.

This museum has three rooms and a sales area and there are guided tours that take an hour or more, depending on the interest of the group.

In the rooms, one can see ancient instruments such as: the plate cylinder, the goldsmith's case, a crown, a replica of the Belém Tower, the thread-pulling bench, the polishing table, an intricate jewelry box, and “the biggest filigree heart in the world", a dress designed by Micaela Oliveira, adorned with filigree by goldsmith Arlindo Moura.

Footbridges of Fiães

Also known as the Walkways of the Uíma River, the Footbridges of Fiães are a pleasant surprise and, above all, an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and nature typical of northern Portugal.

Located in Santa Maria da Feira, 20 minutes away from our accommodation, they are one of the most beautiful walkways in Portugal, with a distance of 2km (4 km round trip).

Along this route we glimpse the charms of this forest, through which the Uíma river flows, one of the many tributaries of the Douro river.

Along the way there are small waterfalls, streams, a dam and even an observation tower to study the local fauna.

The wonderful beaches of our coast

There are beautiful beaches on our coast!

Less than 30 minutes away is Praia da Barrinha, located in Esmoriz with an extensive beach, a beach with fine, clear sand.

There is also a growing tourist industry in this city, and today it is equipped with the most varied infrastructures, including several restaurants that offer tourists the freshest flavors of the sea.
